Dr. Karen Bonnanzio
Dr. Karen Bonnanzio is a graduate of UCONN and received her doctorate from the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Bonnanzio has served the Waterbury area for the past 25 years, now in her own location. She feels it is an honor to work in her hometown and values the wonderful patients she has met along the years. She has successfully treated and diagnosed eye disease, fit contact lenses and cared for patients of all ages. In her free time, Dr. Bonnanzio enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
Dr. Kurt J. Tichy
Dr. Kurt J. Tichy is a native of southern Connecticut and currently lives with his wife and children in Orange. He attained a bachelor of science degree in honors physiology and neurobiology from the University of Connecticut in 1989. Dr. Tichy went on to attain his doctor of optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Tichy has been serving the greater Stratford area for over 25 years. In May 2006, he opened his first office, Oronoque Eye Care Inc. In January, 2017, he opened his second practice with his partner, Dr. Karen Bonnanzio, in Waterbury. Dr. Tichy prides himself on giving each and everyone of his patients a thorough and honest eye exam. He always takes the extra time to explain his exam findings to his patients and makes sure all of his patients’ questions are answered. Dr. Tichy is board certified by the American Optometric Association- a distinction that has enabled him to treat and diagnose eye disease with added confidence and care.

Ms. Shirlean Alston
Shirlean has been serving the Stratford area for over 20 years. She brings a wealth of optical knowledge and an innate sense of style to Oronoque Eye Care. Shirlean will always greet you with a warm smile whether you are coming in for an appointment or just a frame adjustment.
Elyse Gusciora acts as our friendly front desk ambassador! Elyse is the first person to greet our patients upon entering our Stratford location and on the phone. From performing pre-examination tests to making certain that our patients are satisfied before they leave the office, Elyse is the consummate professional who keeps our office running smoothly.
Mary McKay has been an integral part of Oronoque Eye Care for over ten years. She is our medical billing and insurance specialist, making certain that our patients are able to use the full extent of their benefits. She is a vital part of our back office, helping to keep our offices running well.
Manny Colon has worked in the optical field for over ten years. He is certified under the American Board of Opticians and National Contact Lens Examiners. He is always eager to answer any questions and help you choose the best frames and lenses to fit your lifestyle. Manny is dedicated to enhancing the overall experience of our patients.
Monica Alicki & Mary Arroyo
Monica Alicki is part of a dynamic duo in our Waterbury location! Working with patients from start to finish, Monica has an eye for fashion and has been the driving force behind our tremendous selection of unique frames to complement our patients for both fit and function.
Mary Arroyo completes the other half of our team in Waterbury. With over twenty years of experience in the optical field, Mary has taken her skills to the next level as she completes her training to become a licensed optician. Not only is she an expert in frame styling, she will add a new dimension to the office as she will be fitting specialty contact lenses upon completion of her licensing. Mary is certified by the ABO and NCLE.
Kyle is a recent graduate of UCONN and has been working in our Stratford office for the past 6 years. Kyle is comfortable assisting our patients from when they walk in the door, performing medical testing and ordering and dispensing their finished product. Kyle will be a full time associate while he prepares for the next leg of his academic career.
